"The Best Western Valley Hotel has been used by the Environment Agency and Hydro-Logic for training courses since 1998. The Severn Suite that is used for the indoor training is an excellent facility, particularly since its recent renovation, and is much larger than we have been provided by other hotels elsewhere in the vicinity. This is important since there is a large amount of display and demonstration equipment used on the courses. Also, it is possible to conduct practical work and group activities within the room. In addition, the Valley Hotel has an excellent restaurant, a very relaxing atmosphere and comfortable bedrooms. However, most importantly it has owners, management and staff who genuinely care about the well being of their guests. Hydro-Logic have not found any other hotel where they have undertaken training that provides such an excellent, caring service as the Valley Hotel."

"We were with a group from the national trust and had a truely splendid time. Our reception was genuinely warm and baggage handling was carried out with a practiced air of understated efficiency... it is of the service, food and staff attitude that i really write. We regularly use 'good hotels' and are used to, indeed expect, high standards. The kitchen and dining room staff are to be especially praised because we were served cuicine of the highest standards considering the charges. We have eaten at michelin starred restaurants and not enjoyed better, and we really mean that... As in the best practice, staff were hardly noticed but things just happened, as if by magic, and all our needs were met. I stress that this quiet efficiency and proffesional courtesy was a model of its kind and a lesson to all in the service industry."

"In January 2010 I wrote a review of this hotel entitled “A place to return to” – well we did and the only minor irritant last time (a cold room) was certainly resolved – which was fortunate, as I had recommended the hotel for a family 90th birthday celebration, and everyone in our party (8) commented on how warm the rooms were. We were made to feel very welcome and “at home”. The staff are still first rate and so too is the local real ale. The food in the restaurant was previously very good and has improved even further – it is excellent. And, yes, we hope to return again in the future for our fourth stay."

The food was fantastic and much better than expected as we payed for DB&B, as sometimes the menus in other hotels can be limited. Good quailty breakfast (proper sausages!). Will be booking to come back very soon."

"The setting of this hotel is very nice leading down to the river. Check in was very efficient and as we arrived early we were able to leave the car in the car park and walk into ironbridge. The staff without exception, were very friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size, very comfortable and quiet despite there being a wedding at the hotel. Dined in the chez maw restauran., Menu offered good choice and the food was a high standard. A thoroughly enjoyable meal in a nice setting. We would definitely stay here again and our expectations were far exceeded."

"I am writing to put on record, our thanks and satisfaction for the high standard of service and attention that my wife and i received during our recent holiday break at your hotel. From the moment we stepped into the reception area, we experienced a courtesy and style of attention that is unfortunately frequently missing at British Hotels. It was really the small things that impressed us. Your staff smiled. They spoke to you, rather than at you. When my wife was unwell one morning and had to remain in her room, they were anxious to make sure that she had all that she needed; and importantly they asked how she was feeling when they saw her the next day, The restaurant staff were attentive without being too pushy, and the food they served was tasty, and on hot plates, (also quite rare these days). All in all, it was a real pleasure to stay at The Valley Hotel. I am sure that the quality of your staff owes much to the way they are selected and to the level and style of their training. Most important i suspect, is the presence of a senior manager on site!"
