Mayor of the Borough of Telford & Wrekin, Councillor Ian Fletcher, hosted his Charity Ball at Best Western Valley Hotel on Friday, 18 February 2011.

This special event in the Civic calendar, themed ‘Amethyst Valentines’, was an elegant evening of romance at The Valley Hotel. The Mayor was thrilled to be able to host his guests, assisted by Toastmaster Mr Browne, in the Severn Suite which will be especially adorned for the evening with a romantic Amethyst theme, including scrumptious bespoke favours, lovingly created by Queenies Cupcakery (also located in Ironbridge). Guests will be treated to a sparkling reception in The Mews before being served an indulgent three-course meal from the two AA rosette awarded restaurant.

Tickets for the ball have been sold and a number of giving opportunities will take place on the night including a raffle and auction. All funds raised will go towards the Mayor’s Charity Appeal, which is focusing on support for local voluntary groups assisting people with chronic long term debilitating health issues to participate as fully as possible in community life on a day-to-day basis.
